We have two rooms available and take bookings on an exclusive basis. Accommodation for up to 4 people. One room has a Queen size bed and the other One Single and One King Single.Click here for more information.

By evening take a soak in the outdoor bath or just enjoy the company of your hosts Craig and Wendy Caldwell.

Trout Fishing and other Activities

Fly fishing at Trout Heaven, New Zealand The Puniu river running below the property is one of New Zealand's hidden trout streams. Only a short stroll to the river bank for trout fishing. The Puniu, Mangatutu, Waipa and other streams are within short driving distance.

Also a short drive away is the Maungatautari bird sanctuary which is one of New Zealand's inland bird santuaries where native birds can survive without preditation. A great location for bush walks.

For those more adventurous the area is well known for Rock climbing at Wharepapa south only 5 minutes away.

Hi Craig and Wendy,
My recent two day stay with you was a great experience, like staying with old friends to enjoy a spot of fishing in pristine surroundings, quiet and secluded with only the constant call of the pheasants to contend with.
I was made to feel instantly at home with Craig as the fishing guru, and a pretty good chief as well , the delightful Wendy who just couldn't do enough for me.

I really want to thank you again for making our stay at Trout Heaven a memorable one and one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time. It was more like spending the weekend with great friends than being guests at a B&B. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The fishing was some of the best I’ve ever experienced in breathtaking surroundings. We’ll be sure to visit again next time we’re in New Zealand.
